Aldi is known for its discount-based product offering. It sells grocery products as well as non-food products included in its bazaar section. Every week the section has a new product offer. In the coming years, this area will also be available online for customers in Spain.

Expansion of online channels

The discounter has previously tested an online offering in Spain, as it did last year with a delivery service for its online groceries. Now it wants to expand its online channel again to include bazaar products. The product range includes the categories DIY, garden, toys, household, leisure and sport as well as small appliances.

“Aldi Spain is now hiring an e-commerce team.”

The launch of the online shop is a further step in the company’s omnichannel strategy. To prepare for launch, the company has started a hiring process to onboard an e-commerce team. The team will manage day-to-day operations with the new online bazaar service.

40 new supermarkets in 2022

According to research, Aldi currently supplies more than 6 million Spanish families. The discounter is thus gaining popularity in this country. In addition to its online expansion, the company also plans to open over 40 supermarkets across the country this year.
